
Meditation and the benefits
Over a number of years, I’ve practiced various forms of meditation from Centering Prayer, which is a Christ-based form of meditation. Meeting with others from a few beliefs, including Eastern beliefs. We would sit quietly. For 20 minutes, and then, when finished, someone would have a piece of writing that wanted to share, and we’d discuss it for 10 minutes or so. After which we’d say a prayer. I’ve also tried a three-hour Eastern religion meditation.
These days, I have an app that I’ve set for 20 minutes. There are several meditations to suit each individual's preferences, time, and needs. If I am stretched for time in the morning or throughout the day, I always have time in the evening before bed. It’s become a regular column in the balance amid a sometimes-hectic life.

Improved emotional well-being: Meditation may help improve emotional well-being by increasing feelings of positivity and reducing negative emotions such as anger, irritability, and frustration.
Better self-awareness: Regular meditation practice can help Individuals become more self-aware and mindful, which may lead to greater self-acceptance, improved relationships, and a greater sense of purpose in life. Vicky Matthiessen Krause.
