These pics are from the planning & execution of the Veterans National Recovery Center entry at the Veteran Parade at Veterans Day at the Fair. Bright points: Retired Admiral Mike Franken walked with us, and I also had my first taste of Boboa tea (delicious) at the Saigon Vietnamese restaurant at the fair. Over 70 vet group entries this year, so lots of fun & camaraderie. VNRC focused on the problem of Veteran suicides. Years after the wars, the rate is still around 4 times the rate of the civilian population in Iowa. VNRC will be floating proposals to reduce the rate later in the year.
